As an otolaryngologist, Dr. Long brings a strong educational background, a passion for patient care and particular interests in obstructive sleep apnea surgery with Inspire®, pediatric care and sinus surgery.
A Strong Foundation in Medicine
The medical journey of Daniel Long MD began at Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and graduated summa cum laude. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch before completing his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
During his chief year of residency, Dr. Long was recognized as Resident Teacher of the Year. This honor reflects his commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting the education of others within the field of otolaryngology.
Areas of Interest
The clinical interests of Daniel Long MD include obstructive sleep apnea surgery with Inspire®, pediatric care and sinus surgery. He also holds specialized certification for Inspire® placement.
One of the reasons he appreciates otolaryngology is the opportunity to care for an entire anatomic region and manage a wide range of conditions. His work allows him to care for patients in both the office and operating room while developing close relationships with patients and their families.
For Dr. Long, working closely with patients and families is an important part of helping them work toward better health and an improved quality of life.

A Proud Aggie and Richmond Resident
Outside the office, Daniel Long MD is a proud Aggie who grew up in Beaumont, Texas. He continues to follow Texas A&M sports and is also an avid English soccer fan who has followed Chelsea FC for many years.
Since moving to Richmond, Dr. Long and his family have enjoyed exploring the local parks and hiking trails. He is also an avid runner and has participated in the Richmond Half Marathon several times, with hopes of making it an annual tradition.
Enjoying Life in Richmond
Richmond has become an important part of life for Daniel Long MD and his family. They appreciate the city’s four seasons, active community and proximity to the river, mountains and beaches.
Family and community are also important to Dr. Long, who enjoys the strong sense of friendship and community found through church. Spending time outdoors, exploring Richmond and enjoying activities with family are among the ways he enjoys life outside of medicine.
